Recent Sales for Incredibly Rare Sierra Games

Postby jonebone » Sat Oct 22, 2011 12:08 pm

Even though these boards are quite slow, I figured it'd be nice to document known sales of some really rare items. Who knows if some reads this thread in 5 or 10 years.

Mystery House, Apple II $522 9/30/2011

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290613881407?ss ... 1438.l2649

Softporn Adventure, Apple II $810 10/3/2011

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290613881407?ss ... 1438.l2649

And TrapShoot (First Sierra Software for Apple II): $1,315 10/5/2011

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAPSHOOT-ON-LI ... 43aa06e4dc

Description of Trapshoot incase it really is as rare as the seller claimed:

Image

TRAPSHOOT ON-LINE SYSTEMS APPLE II 1979
THIS IS THE FIRST SOFTWARE THAT ROBERTA AND KEN EVER SOLD
They only sold few copies from door to door.
This is the only copy known in existent.
The floppy that they used is verbatim and they just put a white sticker on it.
They also put hand writing add-ons on the orange paper master.
Comes with original baggie
First time on e-bay
Due to its age (32 years) sold as is.

If anyone is here to read this... discuss? How's this compare with previous data points?

I bought some of the games from this seller, though due to some recent findings linking him with Eyal Katz (primarily from YOIS), I'm now questioning the authenticity of my items (one of which was purchased outside of ebay). Unfortunately, my experience with pre-1984 Sierra releases is thin at best.

Is there anyone here that has copies of Time Zone, Pegasus, Wizard and the Princess big folder, or Cranston Manor around that would be willing to do some authenticating for me? Please PM. Hopefully soon - I've another ~30 days left to file complaints if I need to do so.

I've got Time Zone (missing the poster though)

I also have WATP large folder - it's sealed though so I can only verify from the outside.

I also have the small black Cranston Manor folder.

I'm happy to help - will send you a PM

Thanks for your reply. I have two Time Zones, actually, though I'm unsure if either had the poster.

I know that one had both the On-Line Systems Catalog and also the hint book for the game, Wizz Notes, I believe it was called (will have to double-check... my mind's had WAY too long of a day today)

Curious - did Sierra even make in-house hint books for their games prior to the Quest series?
