Would you unseal a first-state, unpeeled Beatles "Butcher" cover just to make sure the record doesn't skip? I sure hope not. Might as well chuck $5,000 into the trash at that point.
My curiosity isn't worth that much, sorry.
Broken disks in a factory sealed package are worth much more than working disks in an opened package. Maybe not to the consumer, but certainly to the collector.
